[H2]GRE Internet-Based General Test Field Study[/H2]ETS conducts numerous research and field studies on behalf of its clients. These studies are conducted with the assistance of staff from institutional organizations throughout the world. In October 2006, ETS is planning to introduce a new Internet version of the GRE General Test redesigned to:
- increase the validity of the test,
- enhance security measures,
- provide faculty with better information on applicants’ performance, and
- make better use of advances in technology and psychometric design.
ETS is currently recruiting participants for a field study of the new Internet-based test. The information gathered from this study will be used to help shape future versions of the GRE General Test.
[H3]GRE Field Study Requirements[/H3]
Who can participate?College juniors, seniors, and unenrolled college graduates who have taken or who are registered to take the GRE General Test between June 1 and November 23, 2005.
When will the test sessions be held?October 3 through November 23, 2005.
Where will the test sessions be held?At participating institutions in the United States, Canada, and abroad.
What do participants need to know?- The test will be administered on the computer via the Internet.
- Examinees will be paid US$80 if they complete the entire test (approximately 4 1/2 hours).
- No test preparation is necessary.
- Scores will not be reported to participants or institutions.
- All information provided by the participant will be used by ETS for research purposes only and will be kept strictly confidential.
- Awards of US$250 will be given to the 10 participants who score highest relative to how well they did on their GRE General Test. As a result, participants at all ability levels will be eligible for an award.
How do participants register for the test? If you are interested in participating in this field study, complete and submit the
registration form. If you are selected to participate, you will be notified and sent a list of the testing sites.
